SOL

"WOW" "look at that" "OMG, what IS that? as we walk on the ramps towering over the cages of lions, tigers and bears, oh my! plus: wolves, emus, ostriches, and camels and probably a few more, we have to stop every few seconds to snap pictures. the cool air rushes past our faces as we slowly make our way through the sanctuary. we have already learned a lot about where the animals came from and their sad backstories and it is sad, but once you see them here, you don't feel bad at all. we venture in to the lion building where the lions can come indoors whenever. and a lion lets out a loud ROOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR! me and Avery turn to each other with looks of horror on our faces. 

Snowshoeing

"Hurry up!" my friends yell for me as the stand on the edge of the trail, about to journey in to the land of who knows how deep snow. I frantically tug at my snowshoes to get them off so that I can meet them. Once they  are off, I run ahead or try, the minuet we step off the trail, we sink in up to our waists in snow. "AAAAGGGGHHH!" we yell in delight. As we struggle to stand and go further from the trail, we all start shouting out ideas of what we should make in the snow. "A tunnel", "A snowman", "A fort!" I start to dig in to the snow with my gloved hands, and soon my whole top half is under the snow. I lay for a moment to catch my breath, and think back to the slow, tiresome hike up hill. When I pop my head back up, my friends are crawling back to the group, "Wait up!" I shout, and hurry to keep up. On the way back my mind drifts to warm fire places and hot chocolate that will be awaiting me when I arrive home.

I Am Number Four

9 Loriens were sent to earth. Three have been killed and the fourth is being hunted. 

John Smith is Number Four and is on his way to Paradise Ohio this will be his 22 home. The reason that he has to move so much is that he is being hunted by the Magadoriens they took over his home planet when John was five and him and all of the others who would soon develop legacies and their Cépan were sent to earth. now many years later, the Magadors are finally there for another war. 

I think that this is my new favorite book! it is super good, it is also really sad in the end. You should read read it!!

SOL#8

As i lead Napoleon down the stone road to the arena,  I think how slow this day was going (little did I know how fast things were about to happen). after a long warm up and trying to get used to the cold, my teacher says "time to canter" "you first Grace" Avery stands to the side with Blue. I take a deep breath and move my leg back to give my horse the command. the second I touch is side, he bolts, out of control, galloping across the ring. I cant stop him. I pull as hard as i can on the reins but it is no use, he keeps going. finally i can slow him down enough so that he can be caught and practically fall out of the saddle. 

once i am sitting on the bench on the side of the ring and my mom is running Po(Napoleon), I can think back. strangely, now i feel somewhat triumphant, I did not fall off and I made him stop.  

One Crazy Summer

vonetta, Fern and Delphine, after being abandoned by their mother go on to live with their papa and Big Mamma. they grow to love them and think of them as their parents. but then the time comes for them to meet their real mother, so they are sent to California to live with her for 27 days. from then on the lives of the three girls drastically change. the mother that they dreamed of for years is not exactly loving and seems not to care about them at all, she sends them all over town by themselves and being young, colored girls in the early 1900s they don't feel very safe. and they don't know how they are going to last through the time with their mother.

overall I felt like this was a pretty good book. there is no inappropriate  language or actions. I think that Delphine was my favorite character. she has a very strong and willing personality while also being fun and caring of her younger sisters.

SOL #6

The ground is spinning, no wait... I am the one spinning, off of the sled that is. I get a small glimpse of my younger cousin also tumbling down the rest of the hill. Once I am upright, at the bottom of the hill, I fall backwards because I am laughing so hard. In a sec we are back our feet and dragging the sleds back to the top for a second round. "Lets go to the big hill!" Helen shouts. "OK!", I yell back. On the short walk over the flat, snowy ground, there is a moment of silence and I take a big breath and let the misty air billow from my mouth and nose. Then its "Race you to the hill!" and were off again.

the wolves of willouby chase

Bonnie lives happily with her wealthy family, while Sylvia is living with their very poor aunt who is also very old.

then Sylvia is invited to come live at willouby chase! it is wonderful until Bonni's parents must go on a voyage, then the estate is handed over to... Ms. Slighcarp! who quickly sends the children away to dreadful home for orphans. but thats not all she does. she creats a horrid plot to kill Bonnies parents, leaving the fortune in her evil hands.
I cant say what happens next, (it would spoil the ending.)
over all I loved this book! it was very good. if you are looking for a quick read, this is the book.
